Ethnographic Museum «Peasant hut»

The museum was opened on May 22, 2015. It is located in a separate building. It was built in the school garden from an old house that was moved from the village of Chepuki. Total area is 120 sq.m. The number of exhibits is 3 thousand in storage units, including 1,5 thousand exhibits from the R&D fund. More than 200 new discoveries were made in 2013-2015. 12 excursions have been worked out, and it is planned to increase them to 20.

The museum exhibition consists of three main sections.

In the first room there are household items and tools of the 19th-early 20th century: millstones, stoves, benches, items of cooperage, pottery, blacksmithing, carpentry, weaving, etc. There are many truly unique items: a magician’s thing, a bee trap, a samovar, a bez-man made of a stone axe, etc.

In the second room, the interior of a peasant house of the 30s of the 20th century is presented. Here are a Spindle, a wardrobe, a wooden bed, a carriage of that time and other things made by the peasants own hands in the interwar period. On pokuti-Orthodox icons of the 19th and 20th centuries. The walls are decorated with carpets: drawings and embroidery of the 30s of the 20th century.

There are clothes from that time in the closets. There are still a lot of works of craftswomen-needlewomen: all kinds of napkins, embroidery, lace, etc.

It is not only the interior of the house that is interesting. Around it there is a courtyard where visitors can see the farm equipment: wheels, a cart, a straw cutter, troughs, beekeeping items and others.
